Day 2

Santander, Spain

The morning has gold in its mouth

We start our workday with a short walk along the promenade. A coffee & a fresh breeze, the perfect start to begin the workday! We also enjoyed the sunrise; where the sun rises behind the mountains and gives a beautiful glow over the water.

Playa de los Bikinis, Spain

Bikini beach of Playa de los Bikinis

Today is all about discovering the city and its surroundings. We visited one of the beaches of Santander. Even though it was already November, there were still quite a few people on the beach. As dog lovers, we were especially happy to see all the little dogs happily walking around on their daily beach walk.

Avenida de la Magdalena 1, Santander, Spain

Magdalena palace

After the beach, we continued to the iconic Magdalena palace, located on a peninsula with breathtaking views of the bay. You can also visit the palace, which is now a museum. But we saved this option for a rainy day and enjoyed the sun and the sea air.

Chiqui lunch

We went to the 2nd district of Santander, where the larger El Sardinero beach is located. We had lunch on the terrace of resto Chiqui (which also has a hotel). For Stef, the vegan options were limited. Around the corner, for a big hunger or for dinner time, Bistro Colonial El Camino (Asian) also seems like a nice option. In the afternoon, you could continue your workation on the beach or return to the hotel. Santander offers the ideal balance between work and relaxation, allowing you to be productive without giving up the pleasures of a beautiful coastal town. The fact that it is a relatively small city is also ideal for a short workation.

Restaurant Daria

Restaurants only open later in Spain from 8 PM / 8:30 PM, which sometimes made Stef hungry ;-) One of the restaurants we would go back to is Daria. Their egg with truffle is legendary and oh yes, Ine was completely in food heaven! Again, there were few options for vegans. But they were so kind to order a vegan dish from the restaurant next door, La Voladora. We also considered this resto because Ine was already excited about their cool interior! Had enough of Spanish food and craving something different? L'Artista burger is the place to be (including 1 vegan option).
