A walking tour through the historic city centre is an absolute must. Start at the Market Square, where you’ll find the beautiful ‘Altes Rathaus’ (Old Town Hall). On request, you can join a guided tour that takes you up to the second floor. From here, you not only have the best view over the city, but you will also find authentic rooms adorned with beautiful neo-Renaissance-style paintings. Behind the Market Square, you’ll find the Walpurgis Church. Step inside for a moment. We continue to Rittergasse, a picturesque street with charming houses, where you’ll also find the City Museum. If you have time, a visit to the museum will give you more insight into the history of the region. Stroll through alleys such as Untergasse and Obergasse, where you’ll discover small shops and beautiful half-timbered houses. Be sure to stop by the former Weinhaus. A guided walking tour is highly recommended, as your guide can show you hidden spots and truly bring the city’s stories to life.
