Australia
From baths to bays
After an early morning in Sydney, it was time to hit the road. The drive to Port Macquarie would take around four and a half to five hours without stops, but of course I had a few places in mind along the way. I wanted to stretch my legs, feel the ocean, and break up the drive with some small adventures. Port Macquarie itself would just be the overnight stop for the night, nothing fancy, just a base to rest.

Bondi Icebergs Pool: swimming at the edge of the ocean
Right at the southern end of Bondi Beach you’ll find the Icebergs Pool, which is probably one of the most photographed ocean pools in the world. It’s located on the rocks, with waves crashing in and spilling over the edge while you swim your laps. Even if you don’t swim, it’s worth coming here just to watch the pool against the amazing backdrop.

Newcastle Ocean Baths
If you’re ever around Newcastle, I would recommend to make a stop at the Ocean Baths. These saltwater pools are located right by the ocean, giving you all the fun of swimming in the sea but in a safe, calm environment. After a swim, you can grab a bite at The Kiosk, a laid-back spot with very friendly staff, right next to the water. Great for wraps and fish and chips!
