Road trip from Sydney to Brisbane: one week, one coastline
Road trip
€ 500 - 1.000
7 days
A week is definitely not much for a country-continent like Australia, but after a quick check I saw that the drive from Sydney to Brisbane is just over a thousand kilometres in a straight line. Perfectly doable solo in seven days, with enough room to make stops along the way. Of course, I’d recommend taking more time if you can (longer road trips here are always worth it), but if you happen to have a week, this route is a great option.
For this trip I rented a car through Sunny Cars, and I can honestly recommend them if you’re driving long distances abroad. What I liked most is that everything is included from the start: full insurance without hidden costs, coverage for damage to glass, tyres, the underbody or even the roof, and no hassle when dropping off the car at the end. It gives a lot of peace of mind, especially when you’re travelling solo on the other side of the world.
The roads themselves were straightforward and easy to drive – mostly long, straight stretches with the occasional turn-off if you want to stop somewhere – and thanks to Sunny Cars I never had to worry about the practical side of renting.
