Noosa by the sea

After the long drive north, I slowed the pace in Noosa. The day was all about the ocean: walking the coastal trail, basking on sun-warmed rocks, and ending the evening with dolphins passing by as the sun went down.

Noosa coastal boardwalk

The Noosa Coastal Boardwalk might be one of the most beautiful “easy walks” I’ve ever done. It runs along the edge of Noosa National Park, with turquoise water on one side and eucalyptus forest on the other. Along the way you’ll pass some stunning stops: Dolphin Point Lookout (where I actually saw a whole group of dolphins), the hidden Fairy Pools (natural rock pools perfect for a dip on a hot day), and finally Hell’s Gates, where the coastline suddenly opens up into dramatic cliffs and endless ocean views. The boardwalk is always buzzing with surfers heading to the breaks and runners getting in their miles, but you can also just slow it down. I found myself a spot on the rocks and spent the whole afternoon soaking up the sun and watching the ocean.
