Tanzania
Tarangire: an elephant paradise
The north of the Tarangire National Park consists of vast steppes where huge herds of elephants and buffalo roam. Further south the swamps are home to over 300 bird species. The park is also known for its enormous baobab trees, which can be seen everywhere in the park. Tarangire has a very high concentration of wildlife but knows far fewer visitors than the more famous Serengeti National Park, which makes the safari conditions ideal.
