Road trip tip: our hotels were always 45 minutes to a maximum of 90 minutes drive from each other. This way, you have enough time to explore the region along the way without feeling like you're constantly in the car. Our second hotel was located right between the Delta and Priorat. Ideal for relaxing after a day of blowing in the Delta and a preview of what Priorat has to offer. Villa Retiro, a jungle of green, very spacious hotel rooms, and for those who want, a Michelin-starred restaurant to end the evening. Tip: In the nearby Tortosa, you have cozy bars and the Catedral de Santa Maria de Tortosa is an impressive sight to see.

"Pas de barca de Miravet" meaning a wooden catamaran that takes you from one side of the Ebro river to the other. A skipper, two steel cables, and a fast-flowing Ebro are the only necessities that will take you, including your car, towards Miravet. The Provence of Spain | Miravet
On the way from Delta del Ebro towards the wine region of Priorat, you pass by a small detour (i.e., a ferry) the village of Miravet. Built on a cliff, located on the banks of the fast-flowing green river Ebro and a village square under plane trees. It takes character to lift yourself back up from your plastic chair with a cerveza in hand and a view of the glimmers on the water. Tip: the route from the Delta to Priorat is a joy to drive, very road trip worthy! This experience is part of the Grand Tour of Catalonia part II.

Do you know it? You think you know a thing or two about wine until... Exactly, we thought that too after our barrel tasting at Perinet Winery. From the type of soil, to the climate, location, wind, type of grape, type of wood of the barrel, number of years in the barrel, etc. There really is no end to the influences that determine the complexity of a wine. Here they take you through the complete story! It is therefore highly recommended not to settle for a regular tasting when visiting the region, but to go for a full package: buggy ride through the vineyard, explanation of the process, barrel tasting, and ending with a wine tasting & delicious local snacks.
Het boutique hotel der boutique hotels | El Palauet del Priorat
Kleinschalig, charmant, kleurrijk, voortreffelijke keuken én oh zo gastvrij. Verstopt in de smalle straatjes van het dorpje Cornudella de Montsant is deze parel gelegen. Het hele verhaal klopt hier, prachtige woonkamer, gezellige en ruime kamers met héééééérlijke bedden en dan nog het restaurant... Alsof het plaatje nog niet compleet genoeg is, is dit de kers op de taart. Gelegen in de kelders of beter gezegd grot onder het hotel krijg je een tasting menu geserveerd om u tegen te zeggen. Geserveerd met wijnen én eigen wijnen (want ja, dat doen ze ook) uit de regio, een arsenaal aan eigen olijfolies (want ja, dat doen ze ook nog) en zeer vriendelijke personeel. Tip: Langs het hotel hebben ze ook een klein winkeltje waar ze hun eigen wijnen en olijfolies verkopen.
