Nature reserve Delta del Ebro
100% worth it! With the Costa Brava and many coves around the corner, this delta may be quickly forgotten and unjustly so. Peace, pure nature, sporting activities, and good food, you will find it all here. A unique plain with the Priorat mountains in the background, you will go from one painting to another.

Zen at Mas la Boella | Tarragona
Zen, classic & green! A lovely hotel to wake up in with a great breakfast! Here you can completely unwind to start your vacation and, in our case, a road trip! This experience is part of the Grand Tour of Catalonia part II.
From the hotel, it takes about a small hour's drive towards the Delta. Beautiful roads with the sea on the left and the mountains on the right. A party to drive!

Between birds, wind & rice | Delta del Ebro
Not a birdwatcher yet? You will become one here! Delta del Ebro is a nature reserve west of Tarragona and Barcelona. An expansive plain dominated by rice fields and oyster beds. You can easily spend a whole day here, reading: cycling, beach, good food & nature with a touch of culture. Another consistent factor in the delta? Birds, birds, and more birds. With the many birdwatching huts and observation towers in the nature reserve, you are automatically drawn into the sport called birdwatching. - This experience is part of the Grand Tour of Catalonia part II
Tip: rent an electric bike to get around the Delta! A breath of fresh air guaranteed.

Nature & Culture | Món Natura Delta de l'Ebre
The bike, or rather electric (i.e., flat, but extremely windy), is the ideal means of transport to get around the Delta. We chose a tour with a guide, in broken English, but with a big heart for the region, he took us to the most beautiful spots and viewpoints of the Delta. From birds to special tractor machines for the rice harvest and the operation of the canals, he knew how to tell us all about it. An absolute must during your bike ride is the experiential visitor center Món Natura! Not only architecturally very beautiful, but also very educational! After your visit, you will cycle through the Delta with a different perspective. - This experience is part of the Grand Tour of Catalonia part II

When evening falls & the pink creatures appear
Close to the visitor center, you have Playa del Trabucador, a roughly 6.5 km long beach that connects the Ebro Delta with Punta de la Banya, allowing you to see the sea on both sides of the long strip of sand. Popular among water enthusiasts like kiters and windsurfers, but also ideal for spending a day with children. With the evening light over the bay, the many glimmers on the water, and pink birds appearing, this is the perfect place to end your day in the Delta. Tip: go in the afternoon for the typical 'Arroz' rice dish with seafood and prepare a picnic for the evening on the beach.
