One day in Warsaw
While the remnants of the functional communist architecture still dominate the skyline (Palace of Culture and Science) and the Praga neighbourhood remains slightly dodgy. But aside from that Warsaw has been polished up and is now serving you its culture and history on a silver platter with a large serving of hipster sauce.


Climb up the tower of Saint Anna’s Church and take in the best views of Warsaw
Climb up the stairs of the Saint Anna's church and get uninterrupted views over Warsaw: Old Town Castle Square, the vistula river and the Praga district, and the ever-present Palace of Culture and Science. Stop at the 18th century Saint Anne Church itself, a beautifully ornate church that is still being used as a place of worship today and somehow managed to escape the heavy bombardments of WWII. Opening hours: Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 21:00; Saturday to Sunday: 11:00 AM -22:00 Entrance Fee: 10 PLN ($2.5) Important notice: Going up requires walking up 145 stairs. Not suitable for wheelchairs or people suffering from vertigo.

Get lost in Old Town
Almost entirely raised to the ground in WWII,, the Old Town in Warsaw has been wonderfully reconstructed. Pop into the reconstructed Warsaw Castle which these days is home to a large collection of art, say hi to the statue of King Sigmund and wander to the picturesque Old Town Market Square to spot the Mermaid statue. Come back for a drink after dinner to see the square lit up and turn into something out of a storybook.

Visit the Palace of Culture and Science
Palace of Culture and Science towers over the Warsaw Skyline . Gifted in 1952 by Stalin himself to Poland and the exact copy of seven other builds that can be found in Russia. The Palace is one of the most visited Warsaw attractions! Inside it houses a movie theater, a pool a very neat viewing platform and ...over 100 toilets. Head up to the viewing platform in Poland's fastest elevator, a mere 19 seconds from 0-30. Opening hours: Monday to Sunday: 10.00 AM – 20:00 Entrance Fee: 20 PLN ($5)

Visit the Neon Museum
One of the coolest museums in Warsaw! Inside you will find Cold War and neon signs advertising just about anything under the sun, remnants of the propaganda machine that was the Soviet Union. Entrance Fee: 15 PLN ($3,8) Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 12:00 – 18:00; Sunday 12:00 17:00

Explore the Praga Neighbordhood
Traditionally this part of the city did less well economically and as such is not usually visited by tourists. The neighborhood underwent major change and local artist starting using the spaces for streetart. attracting local artists who have produced some of the cities best street art and art museums. Aside from cool street art the neighborhood also has a host of great affordable restaurants and bars. Good to know: The Praga Koneser Center houses local shops, eaters and former Warsaw Vodka Factory “Koneser” which can be visited.

The restaurant is warm, the staff is attentive and the food is prepared with a lot of love. Vegetarian options are available. Vegan options are available upon request. Prices are around €30 a person without wine for first and main.
