Lake Bunyonyi is relatively unknown, but the perfect destination to relax and unwind. This crater lake was formed thousands of years ago and is known as the deepest lake in Uganda. It lies on the border with Rwanda, just a short drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The lake owes its name to the numerous tropical birds that inhabit it: "bun yonyi" means "many birds". And rightfully so, as nowhere else will you find such a diverse range of bird species as here!
