Into nature with your kids
Discover the green belt around Turnhout with a walk in the beautiful Turnhout bog area and a visit to the city farm.

Breakfast in bed
Did you sleep well? Snooze a little longer and let yourself be surprised by a delicious breakfast from Coucke Huys (Oude Vaartstraat 20). The breakfast is delivered to your bed – or tent – in the morning.
Drive the car or bike towards Klein Engeland 29 (2.1 km).

On a trip in the Turnhout bog area
Put on your hiking shoes for a good walk in the Turnhout bog area. The starting point is the visitor center Klein Engelandhoeve where routes range from 3.4 to 11.4 km. But take your time before you leave to get acquainted with the goats, donkeys, chickens, and sheep around the farm. Also, in the play forest a little further on, you are sure of endless fun.
Choose a nice picnic spot during your walk.

Al fresco lunch
Your lunch has never tasted so good as during this cozy picnic in the greenery. Order your picnic backpack in advance at the visitor center Klein Engelandhoeve. Spread out your blanket on the way or settle on a picnic bench. From the backpack, you pull out crispy rolls, fresh cheeses and toppings, fruit salad, and organic juices. And all of that 100% local!
Ride your bike via the Bels Lijntje or by car towards Veldekensweg 10 (3.3 km).

Natural playground
After lunch, head towards the urban farm and the Heizijdse Velden park. In the picking garden, you can create a beautiful bouquet of wildflowers with the children (from May until the end of the season). Take a look at the community gardens or the orchard, and then settle down on one of the lounging areas. Meanwhile, the children are playing by the water pool and the playground with natural elements. Is the weather not cooperating? Then head to Gustaaf Klimt (Koningin Elisabethlei 113): a trendy and colorful climbing gym near the urban farm and the Dessel-Schoten canal. Do you dare to climb all the way to the top?
