Slotcanyons & vulkanische wijnhuizen
Vandaag gaan we naar de vulkanische vallei van Lanzarote. Aan de helling van een van die vulkanen gaan we een paar slotcanjons verkennen. In de middag gaan we naar het wijngebied van Lanzarote om de vulkanische wijnen te proeven en de zwarte wijngaarden te bezoeken.
Antelope Canyon vibes in Lanzarote
If you ever been to Page, Arizona in the United States, there is a big chance you have visited the Antelope Canyons. These slot canyons are known all over the world. But not so many people know Lanzarote has them too! So we headed to Las Grietas to check them out. After you’ve parked your car, you take the tunnel to cross the road and walk 100m up the mountain to found the first of the 3 lower canyons. If you are up for some adventure, you could climb you way up through the canyons to the top. Arrived there, you’ll find some more smaller canyons. If the sun is out, you can take some great photos that look straight from the States!
Cruising through La Geria wine region
In the valley of La Geria locals are producing wine within the black volcanic soil for almost 300 years. To capture the limited raindrops, reach fertile soil and protect the vines from the strong wind, they dig holes to plant the vines. Winery Vega de Yuco is an established wine house on the island, but until 2023 they didn’t had much tours nor wine experiences offered. We were lucky to be one of the first to experience their beautiful renovated domain with brand new bodega. The wine tasting paired with Lanzarote’s finest chocolate made the experience unforgettable.
