You've probably heard of Lago Maggiore, but nearby is a smaller, much less crowded, but equally impressive lake: Lago d'orta. It's a perfect destination for a lovely day in the North of Italy. These are the best things to do in the area: - Kayak on Lago d'Orta - Swim in the lake And our ultimate tip: a picknick in the vineyard. Le Piane is a top winery located in Boca. Definitely worth a visit to taste and buy some bottles. Ask if they still organise the picknick, because it was 'magnifico'. The wines, the food, the stories and the location.
