Safari-time!
We thought it couldn't get better by now, but then we arrived here. A three-day safari in a tented camp, in the midst of the wildernis (combining all three in this day-post). Probably one of the most romantic and special things we did so far 💞
Private drive from Hoedspruit to your tented camp
When arriving at the airport of Hoedspruit (so small!), you can take your own rental car to your camp/hotel/... So much more fun than having a pick-up, as it feels like your own, private safari! On the way to our camp, we spotted monkeys, elephants, giraffes and zebras already, just walking around freely close to your car. Thrilling and so beautiful!
Experience HoneyGuide Mantobeni Camp
I researched a LOT to find the perfect base for our safari experience. I wanted it to be authentic with just a little touch of luxury to experience it in the best way. Well, we found just that at Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp. It's located in a park neighbouring Kruger Park, so it's way less crowded and also doens't have any concrete paths. You're literally IN the jungle here. What to expect? A tented camp (obviously with a bathroom, however really basic), a pool where elephants come and drink water, three perfectly fine meals a day, plenty of wildlife (monkeys literally on your tent) and three safaris a day. During these safaris they always take one moment to have a drink in the midst of nature. The most special moment during our stay? One night, right after the safari, they brought us to a campfire where they prepared a typical South African "braai" (BBQ). The staff performed local songs, all guests connected with each other and the food was great. A memory for a lifetime.
