Breakfast & turtle spotting in Argostoli
Kefalonia Airport is just a fifteen-minute drive from the capital Argostoli. A small but nice place to stretch your legs after the flight. Have breakfast here at the "Tourist" hotel and walk along the fishing boats. Sea turtles swim here daily (especially in the morning), which you can see from the quay.
Check-in at the Petani Beach Suites
Travel now to my favorite part of the island of Kefalonia: "Paliki". A western peninsula that you can easily reach by ferry, and a little less touristy than the eastern side of this summer destination. The ideal base for your trip, as it is wonderfully quiet here. I recommend the "Petani Beach Suites": a few cozy apartments right by one of the most beautiful bays of Kefalonia. While day tourists have to search for a parking spot to spend a day here, as a hotel guest, you can walk to the beach in just a few seconds. By the way, did you know that Petani Beach is one of the most beautiful sunset spots in Kefalonia? Ideal to stay here until the end of the day. Afterwards, you can eat something at the traditional restaurant "Ksouras Tavern". The eggplant dip and fresh octopus are to die for!
