The wonders of "Plett"
Getting to know Plettenberg: swimming with seals ðŸ¦, lunch at a winery and one of the most special hikes I ever did. We actually spent 2 days in "Plett" (how the cool South-Africans say it 😉), leaving some more time between these activities. Combining it in one day on the overview here.

Swimming with hundreds of seals ðŸ¦
Did you ever hear you could swim with wild seals? Well, I know I didn't. So we just had to do it when in Plettenberg, the home of hundreds, probably thousands of seals. The nature reserve you find here is called "Robberg" because of the many "Robs". We booked a trip of 2 hours with "offshore adventures", who'll take you on a boat to both look at and swim with these friendly animals. A bit scary when they suddenly swim right next to you, but so cool to get so close!

Lunch at Bramon Wine Estate
We are always on the lookout for picturesque lunch spots with as much as a view as possible. Although Plettenberg centre is nice for some hip concepts and healthy food, the outskirts of the town do have better views. It turns out that they make good wine here as well. We found Bramon Wine Estate, where you can literally enjoy lunch in the vineyards. Just a twenty minute drive from town and lots of local vibes!
Take your rental car to the parking lot of Robberg Nature Reserve for quite a heavy, but beautiful hike.

Hike Robberg Nature Reserve
A hike we still talk about after a few years. During the hours you walk here, you'll pass wildlife (birds, seals, quokka's), beaches, forests, shores, dunes, special vegetation and more. A must-must do when in South-Africa. We could have gone on for hours in this decor. Definitely go for the longest hike here if you can!
