Scenic views at John Suwan Viewpoint
That hearty breakfast will definitely come in handy for what’s up next, a 20-minute hike to John Suwan Viewpoint. This amazing viewpoint in the southern reaches of Koh Tao offers a 360° panoramic view of two pristine bays. The uphill trek can be challenging, but we promise the scenery makes it well worth the effort. Just make sure you start this hike outside of the sun’s busiest hours ;-)
Get your reward for the hike at Freedom Beach
Just down from the John Suwan trail, you will find Freedom Beach. Nestled away from the island’s bustling crowds, this hidden gem boasts soft sands and crystal-clear waters. Even though it can get quite busy here, it still offers a peaceful getaway for relaxation. Spend your time lounging underneath palms, or take a refreshing dip in the azure sea. Freedom Beach is a fun way to do a little bit of snorkeling, too!
A 5 minute walk will take you to a more quiet place. ;-)
Pure peace at Taa Toh Lagoon Beach
End the day by visiting Taa Toh Lagoon Beach, a secluded retreat accessible via the John Suwan Viewpoint trail, or via a bridge from Freedom Beach. Tucked away from the island's tourist hotspots, this place is perfect if you’re more looking for a romantic getaway, or perfect for solo travelers wanting to read a book away from the crowds! On top of that, you can also take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, or simply relax and soak up the sun in this idyllic setting. Definitely the place to be if you’re looking for some me time, too.
