Valley of the Five Lakes

Our first stop of the day was the Valley of the Five Lakes. We did the larger walk, which passes all five lakes, but we would not recommend it. You don't see that much of the lakes in the beginning, the path is a bit difficult to walk on, and there are so many mosquitos. The second part of the walk, with views on the turquoise lakes, is really nice!

Have a look out for bears and elk!

Wapiti Campground

Wapiti Campground is one of the larger campgrounds in Jasper. The place is really open, so you don't have much privacy, but we didn't mind. This made sure that you were able to take a look at the elk who visit the camp spots quite regular. There is also a walking trail next to the campground, which takes you to the river nearby. We make a short walk there and witnessed something amazing. While walking next to the river, we saw a bear chasing a mother and baby elk. They luckily were able to cross the river and escape from the bear. At that point, we also wisely walked back to the camp side.
