Maligne Canyon

Maligne Canyon is the deepest canyon in Jasper National Park, with a depth of more than 50 metres at certain points. It's an easy to moderate trail, crossing six bridges built across various points of the canyon.

Take a scenic route to Medicine Lake

Medicine Lake

We made a short stop at Medicine Lake, which was gorgeous! We couldn't make a walk around the lake as the path was closed due to an eagle breeding.

Watch out for bears down the road.

Maligne Lake

Maligne Lake is a beautiful lake. It's a bit more touristic as you can kayak on it, visit the souvenir shop, have a meal at the restaurant ... If you visit it in the morning, it is not too busy, but around noon, the tourist buses arrive, and it's much more crowded.

Walk away from the crowd

Moose Lake

Moose Lake is a smaller lake next to Maligne Lake, and is less crowded. It's known for the possibility to see a moose, but unfortunately, we weren't lucky.

Again: look out for bears

A hidden viewpoint

When driving back to the camp ground, we stopped at a small parking space next to the road and made a short walk to this breathtaking viewpoint.
