Spain
Starting strong with the Sierra Nevada
This first day is all about first impressions. After checking-in, you'll discover right away why Granada's the mean reason why we wanted to work from here. Let me tell you, when you look beyond the city, there is sooooo much much mindblowing nature to discover.

Check-in and stay right in the heart of Granada!
We stayed in a spacious accommodation located centrally in the city. The location couldn't have been better. Our stay was equipped with everything you might need during the week. There was sleeping space for three people, a spacious kitchen and bathroom, and an area to work. Perfect for a workation week. Btw, the Turi Granada Office offers guided tours to Alhambra, the historic city center, the Albaicín and the viewpoint route. And many more! They are more than happy to give you the personalised help you need, and to supervise your stay. They make your workation experience in Granada truly unique.

Afternoon drive through Sierra Nevada
After work, we went straight to explore Sierra Nevada National Park. The Sierra Nevada is a mountain range located near the city and means "snowy mountain range" in Spanish. From the city centre of Granada, you can see the snow-capped peaks in the distance! (Even when it's +30 degrees outside 😳). It is the second highest mountain range in Europe, after the Alps, with peaks that go above 3,000 meters. In summer, it’s a great place for hiking with the mountain scenery and tiny villages to explore. We started our drive by passing the Mirador del Embalse de Canales, a great viewpoint, where we walked for a bit and decided to return in the evening, as it was the perfect spot for watching the sunset! Continuing our drive upwards, we reached the ski slopes. Yes, you can ski here! The entire journey was incredibly beautiful. Having our own rental car allowed us the freedom to explore at our own pace, and we highly recommend it for anyone wanting to experience the same sense of adventure and flexibility!
A golden evening at Mirador del Embalse de Canales
The Mirador del Embalse de Canales lies in the heart of Spain’s majestic Sierra Nevada National Park. It's a scenic viewpoint with a view of the reservoir below. It's surrounded by rugged mountains which turn pink when the sun sets. Very spectacular! The serpentine roads to this location are endless. The anticipation builds with each turn revealing more of the view. It's also a photographer's dream! The silhouettes of the Sierra Nevada mountains get mirrored in the water, there's a building in the middle of the reservoir which is great for drone-shots.
