Canoe trip and wild camping in Biesbosch
Camp out at a remote area in the Biesbosch taking the canoe. Enjoy the birds, the silence and the sunset from your private camp spot in this wonderful place in Brabant.

Explore the Biesbosch by canoe
Let's explore the waters of National Park Biesbosch in Brabant. Jachthaven Oversteeg is a perfect place to start. They rent canoes and other boats. Prices start from €23,5 per Canadian canoe, which is until this day the cheapest and most accesible option. You receive life jackets, a map of the area and some instructions, but then you are good to go. Our destination: Paalkampeerplaats De Bevert. When you paddle directly to your camping spot for the night, it will take you about 3 hours. We decided to explore the rest of the Biesbosch area as well and make it a day tour of several kilometers. The first part of the route leads you through winding creeks, but soon you enter broader waters, then you canoe to the Rietplaat, where you can take a short rest on the beach. We decided to have lunch there and explore the narrow creeks some more. If you are lucky you will see some Scottisch highlanders (cattle).

Camp spot De Bevert
At the Bevert you will find a pole campsite where you can spend the night for free. It is clearly indicated on the map. There is also another 'paalkampeerplaats' where you can camp out for free, without any facilities, which is called De Paardenkop. It doesn't get any closer to nature. There are no sanitary facilities or drinking water available at the pole campsite, so make sure you bring enough. Leave no trace when leaving the place and just enjoy the birds, the still water, the sunset, the cooking on your little gas stove.
