Explore Hoge Veluwe National Park
From the Biesbosch, go to National Park Hoge Veluwe. We will be exploring this region by bike!

Rent a bike and cycle through de Veluwe
We're in the Netherlands, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that you can rent a bike for free in de Veluwe! The free-to-use white bikes are easy to find. The national park has 1,800 of them, distributed among the bicycle parking areas near the Kröller-Müller Museum, Jachthuis Sint Hubertus and the entrances (Hoenderloo, Otterlo and Schaarsbergen). We went to the Otterlo entrance, where you can take a bike and buy a small pap to make sure you can navigate well. We did a bike ride of about 20 kilometers, passing the Kröller-Müller Museum and the Deelerwoud. We then headed to the Sint-Hubertus hunting castle - an old castle that is worth a visit if you have time- and went for a drink at the nearby Tea House. When you're done biking, just put the byclicles back where you took them.

Spend the night at a basic cabin in de Veluwe
In Dutch, these cabins are called "Trekkershutten." They are very easy to find and a lot cheaper than other kinds of accomodations. They have a bed and a stove, but the rest you have to fetch yourself. Get water from a nearby tap, bring your sleeping bag, use the toilet in a facility building nearby. It's back to basics, but also more comfortable than setting up your sent. We stayed at Camping Beek & Hei and we enjoyed a wonderful evening in the sun with our dinner and some beers. Whilst you are in your comfy camping chair, try to spot the robins, squirrels and other animals that live around the Veluwe area. If you are lucky, you could see some deer in the morning.
