Guadeloupe
Rocky coast and off to Basse Terre
Driving a rocky coastline and heading to the other side of Guadeloupe: Basse Terre 🌱

Drive to Pointe de La Grande Vigie
Look up the ‘Route des Falaises’ on Google and you’ll find many beautiful pictures of a rocky coast. You can find these views by driving to Pointe de La Grande Vigie in the North of Grande Terre.

First waterfall of the trip
Now we’re going West, to the greener side of the island: Basse Terre. On your way to your accommodation, take a stop at Cascades des Écrivisses. Best to go early or in the late afternoon to avoid the crowds. A beautiful path right in the middle of the rainforest will lead you to the waterfall.

Check-in and sunset at Habitation Samana Beauséjour
Our next stay is something we didn’t do before: a local guesthouse. And wauw, so happy that we did. Samana Beauséjour is owned by the lovely couple Étienne & Didier, who built 4 spacious rooms each with private jacuzzi and view over the rainforest. The shared area is a huge property filled with tropical plants and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Perfect stay? Check!! At night you can opt to have dinner at their house and listen to thousands of their travel stories. Oh, and the location is perfect to explore Basse Terre from!
