During my solo workation in Croatia, I dedicated a full Sunday morning to exploring the famous Plitvice Lakes National Park — and honestly, it lived up to the hype.
I chose Route B, which is a great option if you want to see a good portion of the park without committing to a full-day hike. The trail includes two short boat rides (already covered in your entrance ticket) and takes you past some of the most iconic waterfalls and turquoise lakes. Expect wooden paths over the water, surrounded by forest and the sound of rushing water.
It took me a solid morning to complete the route, mostly because I stopped a lot to just take it all in. Plitvice is not a place you want to rush.
One heads-up: it was noticeably colder here than in Zadar, where I was staying. If you’re visiting outside summer, bring an extra layer — you’ll thank yourself later.
