Petra is a charming village on the northern coast of Lesbos, with small, narrow streets that make walking around a real pleasure. We climbed up to the old castle above the village, and the views from there were stunning. You could see the whole coast of Petra.
From the town center, you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the water down to the beaches, great for a relaxed day by the sea. Keep in mind that, like many Greek villages, Petra has a siesta in the afternoon.
For lunch or dinner, I highly recommend stopping by the Women’s Cooperative of Petra. I had lunch there myself, and the fresh, tasty food served in such a welcoming setting really stood out. Petra perfectly combines traditional village charm with a calm seaside vibe.
