Jardin Majorelle, Rue Yves Saint Laurent, Marrakesh, Morocco

Explore the Majorelle gardens

Calling all nature lovers! The Majorelle gardens are definitely a welcome piece of quiet after visiting the busy Medina of Marrakech.

The walk from the centre of the Medina to the gardens is a 40min walk. We were advised (due to the warm weather) to take a taxi or a tuktuk to the gardens and back, this costed us 40 MAD in total.

Visit the Yves Saint Laurent museum

The Yves Saint Laurent museum is located about 100m from the Majorelle gardens. All fashion lovers can wonder through some archive looks with prototypes which show the Moroccan influence on the designers work.

Have lunch at café des épices

Café des Épices is located at a square in the middle of the souks. It's a trendy restaurant with a beautiful rooftop bar with a menu that has a mix of traditional and western dishes. Keep in mind that this restaurant has a bit of a higher price range than other (more traditional) bars.

Wander through the souks

Marrakesh had a lot of souks within the Medina. You will find clothing, lamps, cushion covers, tableware etc. here and people will try to sell it all!

Have diner at 'La tanjia'

When you want to enjoy some traditional cuisine on a rooftop while overlooking a buzzing square, not the Djemaa el Fna this time 😉, you should definitely go to La Tanjia. The price ranges between 'Chez Brahim' and 'Café des Épices'.
