Mijas Pueblo is one of those Andalusian villages with whitewashed houses stacked against the hillside, narrow cobbled streets filled with flowers, and panoramic views stretching all the way to the Mediterranean. Located just a short drive from Mรกlaga or Fuengirola, itโs the perfect half-day trip if you want to slow down and soak up that classic southern Spain charm.
๐ One of the most interesting stops is the bullring (Plaza de Toros de Mijas). Built in 1900, itโs unique because of its oval shape, quite rare in Spain, and offers a glimpse into local history and traditions.
๐ซ As you wander through the village, youโll likely spot the famous donkey taxis (burro-taxis), which have been part of Mijasโ identity for decades. Theyโre a nostalgic symbol of the town, but we didn't see many people use this is as form of transportation, luckily!!!
Mijas was a lovely, small town for a quick stop.
