Just next to Tanji Village lies the Tanji Bird Reserve, a stunning natural area that includes the mouth of the Tanji River and the nearby Bijilo islets. The reserve is an important breeding ground for terns and gulls and is home to over 250 bird species. 🦜
Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, we hopped into a kayak and paddled through the narrow side channels of the river, gliding beneath lush vegetation. 🛶 Our guide had an incredible eye for spotting birds and could name them all with ease. Along the way, we even saw monkeys leaping playfully from tree to tree. 🐒 After about an hour of peaceful kayaking, we stopped for a short coffee break in a quiet spot—simple, cozy, and surrounded by nature. This trip is truly a must-do for anyone who enjoys birdwatching, kayaking, and the calm of untouched landscapes.
