Renting a car

Getting around in Costa Rica, the best thing to do is rent a car! We rented our car before coming through Discover cars. They do FULL insurance and we paid around €800 for 2 weeks for 2 people. While most roads in Costa Rica are well maintained, the best option is still to get a 4x4 because you’ll have more freedom to go wherever you want and go off the beaten path. The main renting company in Costa Rica is “Adobe” and when you arrive at the airport they come pick you up, take you to their office with a shuttle (because it’s not in the airport only 5min drive away) and there you settle everything. Everything went very smooth!

La Fortuna Waterfall

After a 3h drive you finally get to La Fortuna! And what better way to discover it’s beauty, to immediately go to the biggest waterfall in La Fortuna where you can relax abit and enjoy being around nature! Ticket price is €15 The hike to get there is around 30min and 500 steps down. The only downside is, later you have to go back up 500 steps 🥲 But 100% worth it!

Late lunch

On the way back to your hotel you pass an incredible late lunch/dinner spot which is called “El Chante Verde” The vibes are really chill, the food is amazing they have alot of different options and bonus it was very cheap!

Time to check in

By now you will probably be exhausted! So let’s go and check in to your hotel! We stayed at “The Royal Corin Thermal water & spa” which I can’t recommend more! And the views out of your balcony, no words. It is a bit on the pricier side, but if you have the budget to splurge a little bit than this is definitely worth it.
