Cat Ba Island is mostly covered by the stunning Cat Ba National Park. For the ultimate panoramic views, we highly recommend hiking to Ngu Lam Peak, the best viewpoint on Cat Ba Island. The uphill hike is a moderate challenge over rocky terrain. The scenery during the hike may not be jaw-dropping, but the payoff at the summit is absolutely breathtaking. It takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach the peak, and trust us, every step is worth it. The summit offers mesmerizing vistas of Cat Ba Island's lush green mountains. To beat the crowds, we suggest starting your hike around 8 AM. When we made it to the top, we only encountered one other person, but as we enjoyed the view for over half an hour, a whole tour group started their ascent!
