Hike PR8 is quite different from the typical levada hikes because you walk along the coastline. Watch out because there is no shade along the route, so if possible you could do this hike on a cloudy day!

Hike PR8 - Ponta de São Lourenço
This 7-kilometer hike with about 500 meters of elevation change can be classified as medium difficulty. You walk along the eastern coastline, in fact this is a small peninsula. After a few kilometers there is a small restaurant where you can buy something to eat or drink. This is also where the second part of the hike begins, and the steeper part. Although a sign indicates that access is forbidden, most people ignore it and continue. Understandable, because the best view was yet to come! :)
