Day 4 - Off to Makasutu Forest & Madina River
At our 4th day we packed our bags to leave the hotel behind for a while. We were off for a three day excursion, starting of the day at Makasutu Forest to hike and Madina River to enjoy a small boat tour. Our first accommodation of our three-days trip was the lovely AbCa's Creek Lodge.
Hiking & boating through Makasutu Forest & Madina River
At Makasutu Magic Forest, we were welcomed by local musicians who sang our names. 🌳🎶 We hiked through the forest, learning about healing trees, herbal teas, and even natural glue. Calm baboons crossed our path, and our guide shared legends of a buried king. 🌱 A peaceful boat ride on the Mandina River showed us oyster-filled mangroves and birdlife. 🛶 We ended with a climb to a watchtower for stunning views, followed by a taste of fresh palm tree juice!
Arrival at AbCa's Creek Lodge
Our first accommodation during our three-days away, was AbCa's Creek. A lovely lodge by the water, providing clean rooms and a lovely restaurant. We enjoyed the cosyness of her stay and ended up eating in the restaurant two nights and playing games.
