Chasing waterfalls in Ubud
Today, we’re chasing waterfalls! From hidden jungle gems to beautiful cascades, we’ll discover some of Ubud’s most stunning natural wonders. Each waterfall offers its own unique charm, and honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite. What we do know is that today promises something special for everyone. 😊

Kanto Lampo Waterfall
Kick off your waterfall adventure at Kanto Lampo Waterfall. This spot is perfect for more than just an Instagram shot (though you’ll get plenty of those!). Dive into the cool, refreshing waters at the base of the falls, or simply relax on the rocks and listen to the calming sounds of nature. It is a pretty busy location, so starting your day here is a great choice. Kanto Lampo is a great place to take a swim or take some stunning photos. If you do want something more adventurous, you can hike some of the hidden trails around for more exploration.
It’s just a 5-minute ride to the next waterfall.
Goa Rang Reng Waterfall
Next up is Goa Rang Reng Waterfall, where the adventure begins even before you reach the water. You’ll have to follow a shaded jungle trail to reach the waterfall itself, and along the way you’ll see some nice wall carvings. At the waterfall itself, the cascading water is flowing gently over some rocks, a really beautiful sight. What we liked most here are the natural pools at the top and near the bottom. Perfect for a quick and refreshing dip, and the water’s so clean as well! Plus, this waterfall is still a hidden gem. When we visited at 10 AM, we had it all to ourselves!
The next waterfall is less than 10 minutes away!
Tibumana Waterfall
Continue your waterfall journey at Tibumana Waterfall. The drive here is an adventure in itself: you'll pass charming villages, vibrant rice terraces, and a palm tree-lined road before reaching the trailhead. From there, it’s an easy 15-minute walk down some stairs to the falls. The hike takes you through a lush jungle, leading to a modest yet enchanting waterfall. It’s a stunning curtain of water with a small pool in front where you can swim and relax. The setting is simply beautiful: a giant pool with a refreshing "shower," all surrounded by nature. What more could you ask for?
A nice 30-minute ride takes you to the last waterfall of the day.
Tukad Cepung Waterfall
End your day at Tukad Cepung Waterfall, a hidden gem tucked away in a rocky canyon. The hike down and back up is not the easiest, but the adventure is well worth it. As you make your way to the hidden cave and the even more hidden waterfall, you’ll forget all about that. You’ll need to walk through a small river to reach the falls, so be sure to wear water shoes since you’ll get wet. The whole setting is breathtaking, especially with rays of sunlight streaming through the jungle leaves and between the rocks. A sight we’ve never seen before! And there’s more: explore multiple waterfalls and even a pool in the area. After admiring the main waterfall, follow the river downstream to discover two additional streams and a fantastic swimming pool. Tukad Cepung is truly a place where you can spend hours soaking in its natural beauty.
