Exploring The Hoop
Sunrise walk, biking with the zebras and monkeys and driving further north.

Sunrise walk in De Hoop
Set your alarm clock early and go for a sunrise walk. Trust me, it's so beautiful here that you just don't want to waste your time on sleep 😁 From Morukuru Beach Lodge, many paths lead to viewpoints looking over the sea, where the sun will slowly wake you up.

De Hoop dune walk
De Hoop Nature Reserve is also the home to kilometres of dunes. The Morukuru Team can take you out on a dune/sea walk, discovering caves, viewpoints and wildlife. Very pure, very beautiful (again)! You just don't get bored here.

Biking with the wildlife
Morukuru has bikes available for you to go and explore on your own. Biking "in the wild" with monkey, zebras, flamingos, ostriches... How cool is that? There's a lake a few km's from the beach lodge where you can see all these animals together. Just them, you, and nature. Great activity!

Knysna viewpoint
The stay in De Hoop is unfortunately over, but plenty of other great stuff is coming up! Next big stop on The Garden Route is Plettenberg, however first stop at Knysna to look at the (quite famous) lookout. We were amazed by how massive and rough the sea was here. You can also jump in and cool down in one of the many natural pools, pretty picturesque. Perfect as a quick pause during your roadtrip.

Check-in at the Sky Villa Hotel in Plettenberg
Your base for the next few days is Plettenberg. Hoteltip: Sky Villa Hotel, for a cool rooftop with sunset views.
