The legendary Alcatraz and Chinatown
Have you really been to San Francisco if you haven't visited Alcatraz? Your second day is dedicated to this notorious island prison. In the afternoon you will explore Chinatown, and to end your day there’s a delicious dinner planned.

Start your day at Alcatraz
You can’t visit San Francisco without visiting Alcatraz! For the best experience, we recommend starting your day with a visit to the notorious island prison. When the first cruise leaves around 8:40AM it’s not too crowded yet, which leaves the rest of your day to explore San Francisco once you get back. To reach Alcatraz, you have to take a ferry from Pier 33. Less than 10 minutes later you’ll arrive at Alcatraz. The audioguide that was included in the ticket is really interesting, it gives you a glimpse into former prison life and teaches a lot about the history of the prison. Big bonus point for the beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline you have from Alcatraz! It’s a visit you won’t forget.
Chances are you spent the entire morning on Alcatraz. Don't worry, a 20-minute walk away you'll find your lunch spot of the day!

Lunch at the Ferry Building
The Ferry Building Marketplace is home to several stalls selling fresh and local food. It is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch! From delicious empanadas and tacos, to mouthwatering sandwiches, we’re sure you are going to find something to your liking. You will also spot a lot of locals coming here to buy ingredients for their dinner! There’s limited seating (outside or inside) available, so once you see a spot open up make sure to go for it! Or eat while walking, if you don’t mind ;-).
A 15-minute walk will take you to your next destination. Ready to explore one of San Francisco's nicest neighborhoods?

Stroll through Chinatown
One of the nicest neighborhoods in San Francisco is definitely Chinatown. The neighborhood itself is not that big, you can do everything on foot, but there is so much to do! From food markets and restaurants to small shops, you'll find everything here. The best way to discover Chinatown is simply by walking around here, you're bound to come across some great places! Don't be afraid to hop in a shop and start looking around. It's the best way to come across something amazing ;-). Whether you’re looking for souvenirs, asian groceries or amazing food, Chinatown has it!
