This trip through South Africa was a mix of driving, nature, food, and a few special stays along the way. We combined longer road trip days with shorter domestic flights to keep the pace comfortable and leave enough time to actually enjoy each place instead of rushing through it.
From wildlife experiences in Oudtshoorn to coastal walks and hikes in Tsitsikamma, and from wine estates in Franschhoek to city life in Cape Town, the route offered a lot of variety. Some days were active, with hikes and outdoor activities, while others were slower, focused on good food, coffee, and simply taking in the surroundings.
We stayed in a mix of comfortable hotels and more unique accommodations, ate at both casual spots and fine dining restaurants, and made plenty of spontaneous stops along the way. Overall, it felt like a well-balanced trip that combined adventure, relaxation, and great food, without trying to do too much at once.
