Spanje Werkdag 6 - Een hele dag vrij!
Een hele dag verkennen van Lanzarote. Vandaag zijn er dus veel hoogtepunten!

Start your day at Jameos del Agua
We start our day with visiting Jameos del Agua. This is an underground cave system created by the eruption of a volcano and redesigned into a center for art, culture and tourism by the architect César Manrique. I especially liked the pool, surrounded by palm trees, volcanic rocks and a white surface. But the underground lake, restaurant and auditorium are also impressive.

Be surprised by Cueva de Los Verdes
At a 5 minute drive from Jameos del Agua, you find Cueva de los Verdes. Cueva de los Verdes is a beautiful (8 kilometres long) cave, also created by the eruption of a volcano. The caves are open to public, but only if accompanied by a guide (the guides are available at the location). The guide takes you through the cave in about 45 minutes, telling stories and showing you the most beautiful places inside.

Enjoy the view at Mirador del Río
And then we drove tp the most northern part of Lanzarote to Mirador del Río. From this viewpoint, it is possible to see La Graciosa Island, which is also part of the Canary Islands. Yet this viewpoint also features a building designed by the architect César Manrique. If you only go for the view, it’s not needed to also enter the building, but it was included in our combination ticket with which we visited all experiences of today.

Jardín de Cactus
Our last stop for the day: Jardín de Cactus. This is a beautiful cactus garden, with cacti of all shapes and sizes. It is a well-known attraction in Lanzarote, and in my opinion well worth a visit, whether you love cacti or not.
