Banff Upper Hot Springs

If you feel like relaxing a bit, the Banff Upper Hot Springs are the place to be. It's kind of an outdoor swimming pool with hot, mineral-rich water. We stayed there for an hour.

Johnston Canyon

A relaxing morning at the hot springs and an active day at the canyon and surroundings. At Johnston Canyon, you can walk through the canyon to the upper and lower waterfalls. It's definitely worth the visit, but be aware that there will be many tourists and that you will have to queue to take a picture of the waterfalls.

Ink Pots

Less touristic, and so pretty! Instead of going back after seeing the upper waterfall at Johnston Canyon like almost all tourists, we decided to walk further and visit the Ink Pots. The Pots are pristine aquamarine coloured pools? The trail to the Ink Pots is well-marked, though moderately difficult, with an elevation gain of 330 metres over 5.7 kilometres.
