De Eiger Nordwand & Grindelwald
Op de tweede dag staat er een hike gepland om de Eiger Nordwand te zien en terug te wandelen via Grindelwald.
To the Eiger Nordwand
Day two was all about the Eiger. We’ve walked as close as possible to the Nordwand of the Eiger, which is an iconic mountain top that several professional climbers tried to conquer. It was a very steep climb, first to the village Wengen, and then further to the highest point of the walk. Unique about this region is that there are a lot of trains. You can also just take the train to the highest point, which is also a unique experience. There are a lot of trails to find to discover the Eiger from closeby, like the Eiger trail or just take the train all the way up. Around Easter, there are still some skiers because there is a ski area nearby.
Visit Grindelwald
After seeing the Eiger from closeby, we walked back down to Grindelwald, a very famous village in Berner Oberland. This is a nice place to stroll around, with a beautiful view on the mountains. From there, we took the train back to Lauterbrunnen, where our car was parked. The train traffic here is amazing and almost always on time, you can really count on it! There are no pictures from in the city, but trust us on our word: it's beautiful!
