Cheeta's in Otjiwarongo, Namibië
Leer meer over cheeta's bij het Cheetah Conservation Fund, gelegen nabij de stad Otjiwarongo, ongeveer 3 uur ten noorden van de hoofdstad Windhoek. Het Cheetah Conservation Fund is het grootste cheetah-conserveringsproject ter wereld, dat zich inzet voor het redden van de cheeta en zijn ecosysteem. Het werd opgericht in 1990 om de soort te redden wiens habitat in de afgelopen 100 jaar met 90% is verloren. Het is een fascinerende plek om te bezoeken voor dierenliefhebbers. Het zal je een dieper begrip en waardering geven voor het conflict tussen mens en natuur dat al tientallen jaren in Namibië en andere delen van Zuid-Afrika heerst.
Cheetah Drive
The Cheetah Drive takes guests out onto the wider Namibia property to see cheetahs in the field. It’s an ideal opportunity to take some great photos. Duration: 1 hour
Cheetah Feeding
During this feeding moment you have a chance to see some of CCF’s resident cheetahs which cannot be released back into the wild, during their feeding time.
Cheetah Conservation Tour
The Cheetah Conservation Fund offers four daily activities. You can visit the museum and visitor center at their own pace. The walking tour will take you to the main facilities of the CCF: education centre, museum, clinic, creamery. Next to that you will also get an introduction to the cheetahs, dogs and livestock that live at the main centre. Duration: 1 hour
Cheetah Run
The Cheetah Run is part of a program that trains resident cheetahs to “hunt” and offers an opportunity for guests to see what these cats do best. Join them for their morning exercise and watch the cheetahs running in close up. Duration: 30 minutes
