Een must-do wanneer je naar het zuidwesten van Frankrijk reist, is een surflessen in de Atlantische Oceaan. We hebben genoten van onze ontmoeting met de golven en genoten daarna van een cocktail en een spectaculair uitzicht op de zonsondergang.

When in South West France, you really have to conquer the waves of the Atlantic ocean! The surf vibe is very present and you see people walking around with surf boards everywhere. There are also a lot of surf schools to make sure your first surfing experience is the best possible. We booked a lesson at Max Respect and it didn't dissappoint! Our teacher really did his best to teach us the basics of catching waves and we did manage to surf a couple of waves. My son (11) surfed his first waves and couldn't be more excited afterwards. This was his first time surfing, but definitely not the last ;-).

After surf drinks at Contistador🍹
This bar is conveniently located right behind the beach of Contis and is a chill place to hang out after a beach day. We had some after surf drinks here, but they also have a nice menu if you want to eat something here. On wednesdays (in summer), there is an after beach DJ set!
A walk to the beach for another spectacular sunset 🥰
Sunsets at Contis-Plage are different every night, but always so spectacular. When walking up to the beach, you first see the whole village of Contis-Plage adorned by beautiful sunset colours. Maybe there are even some sunset surfers? Enjoy nature's spectacle on this beautiful beach!
