Visit Jerash
Jerash is a beautiful historic city, which was largely destroyed in AD 749, but still offers impressive insights in what was once an important city in the Middle East. Jerash is considered one of the largest and most well-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside Italy.

Kings Highway scenery
Around 12:30 we left Jerash and headed to the south of Jordan. There are two options to go there: either through the main highway, or take the Kings Highway, which is around 2 hours slower than the former. We made stops in Madaba, the Kerak Castle and drove through the canyons. We found Madaba and the castle pretty underwhelming compared to what we read on the Internet. The canyons are nice to pass by, especially during the evening when the sun sets over the canyon. However, it got dark during our drive in the last canyon and from then the route was not the most comfortable one. We stayed at the Dana Eco Camp, which was also not the easiest to find it the dark. In general I would not recommend the Kings Highway if you are short on time during your trip.
