Pick-up your rental car!

After arriving at Innsbruck (closest) or Munich airport, pick up your rental car for the weekend. A companion you just can’t miss! Otherwise you won’t be able to see all beautiful spots in the area. Ever since I travel a lot, I always book my rental cars with Sunny Cars. Their prices are 100% all-in all necessary insurances, so you drive around worry-free. That’s not always the case with rental car agencies, so it’s a huge + for me 😊. We quickly got our keys, so ready to go!

Check-in at Hotel Post, Kaltenbach

Our home for the weekend is the traditional Hotel Post in Kaltenbach. Perfect basepoint to start exploring from! Two things I love about it: - Wellness area and amaaazing massages (worth every €!) - If you book half board, you’ll enjoy a 4-course dinner every night. And the food is delicious!!

Lunch at Tweets Rooftop

First meal is at Tweets Rooftop, a terrace with a view in a trendy hotel. We decided on our weekend schedule here while sippin’ a glass of local wine (Grüner Veltliner).

Kaltenbach Waterfall hike

We started our active holiday still quite at ease, with a hike around the village. Getting used to is slowly 😉 Our mini goal: reaching the Kaltenbach waterfall. > 6km, 300m height > start from Kaltenbach station and walk up to a small chapel. From here, the road slowly starts to lead into the forest. Now just follow the signs ‘Waterfall’ and walk back in a loop.

Chill night at Hotel Post

After the hike, a traditional 4-course dinner was waiting for us. Wiener Schnitzel & Käsespätzle: check. Perfect way to end our first day.
