Explorer le parc national de Wilsons Promontory
Niché à l'extrémité sud du continent australien, le parc national de Wilsons Promontory est un havre pour les passionnés de nature à la recherche du parfait mélange de paysages à couper le souffle et de rencontres avec la faune.
Arriving and exploring
After parking our van at the right spot at Tidal River camping, we got ready for a hike. After a quick orientation at the information centre, we decided we didn’t want to go for a long hike (traveling is tiring, you know), so we started off with a shorter one: the Loo-Errn track. The trail takes you through the heart of the park and its beautiful landscapes! Designed for people with limited mobility, the Loo-Errn track follows Tidal River mostly along a boardwalk that protects the nature. It’s very pretty and only a 1km walk, one way. We did end up doing a second hike: the Lilly Pilly Gully Nature Walk (great name!). A 5.2 km return which is a bit steeper and takes you up a viewpoint: Little Drift Overlook. The effort of the hike is rewarded with a great view over the untouched beauty of Wilsons Promontory. Fresh and sooo peaceful, couldn’t ask for more.
Sunset at Norman Beach
We ended the day at Norman Beach. This beach lays right next to the camping spot, which is just great. Families and groups of friends get together with games or a drink, enjoying the sunset and the amazing background.
Wombat quest
Post-sunset, we went through the grassy plains near Tidal River, hoping to catch sight of the adorable wombats that live here. And we got lucky!
