Hike with a view on the Walensee
We went for a hike from Walenstadtberg to Quinten, on the north side of Lake Walen, and then back along the lake. The Walensee is located in eastern Switzerland, at an elevation of 419 meters above sea level. Stretching approximately 14 kilometers in length and with a maximum width of about 2.5 kilometers, it reaches depths of up to 151 meters, never freezing due to this depth. It has been carved out by big glaciers in the last ice ages. The lake is known for its breathtaking scenery, surrounded by towering cliffs up to 1000 m and charming villages. Its pristine waters attract visitors for a variety of recreational activities including boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking along its shores.

Pittoresque village Quinten
At the end of the hike, you’ll cross a little village, Quinten, that is only accessible by foot or boat. It’s a very small and pittoresque village where you can stay for the night, enjoy the view of the Walensee or walk through the vineyards. You can take the boat from Walenstadt to Quinten or go by foot.
