Excursion to the Sierra Negra volcano
A tour guide picks you up in the morning to drive up the volcano to the starting point of the hike. The hike is 16 kilometres, takes 4 to 5 hours and is easy to moderate. The hike starts along the Sierra Negra crater rim. The view of the crater is phenomenal. The hike then continues to a field of lava stones on Volcán Chico to end with a panoramic view of the other volcanoes of the island. It seems like another planet! Watch out for mocking birds. They are usually spotted on a cactus. 🌵 The heat can be quite intense and there's hardly any shade, so bring enough sunscreen and water.
