Calmont Klettersteig
Wine and hiking lovers, this one's for you! With a gradient of 68%, the Calmont, located in the German wine region of the Moselle, is the steepest wine mountain in Europe. Next to the amazing views you get on the mountain top, it's even more amazing to walk through the vineyards. From a gut-wrenching climb, to a delicious (deserved) Mosel wine at the summit, and an adventurous descent with phenomenal views of the region. Geierlay hängebrücke
The second stop of the day was the famous Geierlay hängebrücke, Germany's longest and most spectacular suspension bridge. You can easily park in a village near the bridge, or choose to go for a walk around the bridge. That’s what we did. Be sure to check out this link for the route.
The picturesque wine village Beilstein
Afterwards, we visited a picturesque wine village Beilstein. This is a cosy village for strolling and tasting good wines. By the end of the day, we drove to our last B&B. This one was located in a small village, but close to a station where we took the train to Cochem for a nice evening dinner and walk.
