Discovery of the El Barrio de Santa Cruz and by tram to Benidorm

Discovery of the prettiest neighbourhood in Alicante. Get lost in the pretty streets and get rewarded with a great view of the view at the top. In the afternoon it was time to go to Benidorm for the rest of the trip! I took the tram, which is a great way to explore the Costa Blanca coastline between Alicante and Benidorm.

To Benidorm by tram

There are several stops in Alicante where you can take the tram. I took the tram in Marq/Castillo, which is close to El Barrio. It's very cheap! To go to Benidorm, I paid €2,80. It was about 1h10 to get from the centre of Alicante to Benidorm. On the way, you pass cute Spanish coastal villages such as Altea, VillaJoyosa,...Which are also a great idea to explore when you have some extra time.

Check-in in Hotel Belroy Benidorm

This 4*-superior Hotel in the centre of Benidorm, 50 meters from Levante beach, has a cosmopolitan vibe. It has nice, modern rooms with sea view and a big terrace which are ideal for a workation. I stayed in a studio, which was perfect when you do spend some time on your room to work (or relax), because it had a seating area, a sofa and a nice terrace. The breakfast buffet is extensive, with lot's of fresh fruit, pastries, eggs on demand,...Definitely recommended for a nice stay in Benidorm!

Tapas in the Benidorm 'Tapas street'

Take a place at one of the many tapas restaurants in this street and order as many tyapas as you like! The prices are reasonable, the tapas are good quality and the Spanish wine pairs great with the food. Enjoy the lively athmosphere, and even when it's colerd it's nice to sit outside with the heaters on the terraces. A real Spanish experience! I went to Taberna Saltoki, which had good tapas and a very nice authentic Spanish feel inside!
