Start the day at a museum
Depending on your interests, visit the World of Volvo or the Gothenburg Museum of Art. The newly opened World of Volvo features immersive exhibitions, interactive displays, and iconic vehicles. Fun things to do: try to keep your balance in a crashing bus, imitate Jean-Claude Van Damme's iconic split and check out the Guinness world record car with over 3 million miles on the clock. The Gothenburg Museum of Art mainly focuses on Scandinavian artists, but also features works of Rembrandt, Picasso and van Gogh. Don't miss the Hasselblad Center housed in the museum and shows contemporary photography of the annual Hasselblad Prize winner.

Explore Haga
Explore one of Gothenburg's oldest neighbourhoods: Haga. Iconic, historical houses with brick on the bottom and wood on the top flank the cobblestone street Haga Nygata. Today, they house inviting shops and cafes. An ideal spot to have fika: the Swedish coffee break - coffee and cinnamon buns are a must.

Drinks at Feskekörke
A fish market housed in an old church that’s been recently renovated. Inside, the vibe is unbeatable: fresh seafood everywhere and a lively buzz. There are 4 restaurants inside, so whether you’re craving oysters, a seafood platter, or just a drink, you’re in for a treat.

Champagne and oysters for lunch
Head to Chamagnebaren for lunch. A cosy restaurant with a great selection of oysters. Not into oysters? There’s a whole menu of delicious dishes to choose from. A must-visit for champagne lovers!

Shopping & city strolling
Spend a few hours exploring the centre of Gothenburg. Some of the streets are car-free, making it easy to wander around and explore at your own pace. This time of year, Gothenburg feels extra magical—the early darkness brings a warm glow from festive lights that make the whole city feel cosy and inviting. Head to Victoriapassagen for boutique shops and stop at Da Matteo for afternoon fika.

Christmas magic at Liseberg
Liseberg is Scandinavia's most visited theme park. Each Christmas season it turns into a winter wonderland, complete with over 5 million sparkling lights. It’s pure magic! 🎄✨ You have to pay an entrance fee for the park and can choose between a ticket with or without attractions. If there's one Christmas market worth paying for, it's this one!

Dinner at Pergola
Looking for a slice of Italy in Gothenburg? Pergola Trattoria e Vino is the spot. The moment you step in, it’s like you’ve teleported to a cosy corner of Rome or Florence. 🍝 Candlelit tables, the aroma of fresh pasta, and a wine list that’ll make your heart sing - Pergola nails the art of la dolce vita. Bonus points for the staff who treat you like famiglia.

Rooftop cocktails at Heaven 23
The rooftop bar & restaurant of the Gothia Towers Hotel is like a front-row seat to spectacular views of the sparkling lights of Liseberg. And the fun already starts in the glass elevator that takes you up. Grab a signature cocktail and soak in the panoramic scenery. The best way to end a day in Gothenburg!
