Exploring the city
First day in the city, exploring the must-sees in town on a "medium tempo" :-).

Breakfast at Fabrique
Start your day in the historic center of Stockholm, named Gamla Stan. To fuel yourself, plan a first stop at the bakery "Fabrique", very close to the exit of the subway station. Very hard to choose between all these local treats! The Swedish know how to make great baked goods.

Explore Gamla Stan
Gamla Stan is the cosy historic center of Stockholm. Get lost in the little streets of this island (yes, it's a small island) and don't forget to stop at the Royal Palace. If you're lucky, you can watch the change of the guards around noon. When visiting during Christmas time like I did, you also have to take a look at the small, yet super cosy christmas market in the center of Gamla Stan. Perfect place to enjoy some authentic X-mas vibes! Seriously - Stockholm is one of the cities with the cosiest Christmas lights of all. Worth it to visit in December.
Exit the Gamla Stan island towards the water and the opera (be sure to check it out)

Lunch at foodhall Ostermalms Saluhall
Now walk to this cosy and super fresh foodhall in the city center. Here, you don't need any reservation to enjoy local food, such as meatballs or fresh salmon. Just sit down at one of the stalls and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
Take the subway to the Sofo neighbourhood

Explore the Sofo neighbourhood
Sofo is the trendiest kid in town! This city area is packed with interesting, cool and creative shops specializing in clothing, design, jewelry, vintage, interior, music and much more. Several fashion brands have their own stores in Sofo, perfect for shopping. There are also tons of restaurants and cafés. The atmosphere is super laid-back. Just walk around here, stopping at a random café to have a Fika moment (Swedish for a coffee break) - you just can't go wrong here.

Dinner at Racamaca
Friendliest staff ever, super cosy seating and creative tapas: what else do you need for a fun dinner in Stockholm city? Head to Racamaca if you like to share food and don't mind waiting at the cocktail bar until your table is ready (they don't take reservations). The location is just perfect: just next to many other restaurants and bars to continue your evening.
